Hi and Welcome to WordPress4SmallBiz.com!

My name is Debbie Josendale and I’ll just get this right out of the way…I am addicted to WordPress!  WordPress lets me fulfill my secret dream of being …ok are you ready for this…a GEEK…or at least a quasi geek and blend that with Marketing!  As secret desires go…I know this one sounds a little boring. But hey when you power your website with WordPress…YOU can make your marketing roar and that gets me going!

 Now let me be the first to tell you that I have little to no geekiness ability.  I am a sales and marketing type, so you know what that means…I’m better at talking than at writing code!  But, I was swept off my feet by the MAGIC of technology when I took a management job with an IT Consulting Company several years ago.  And that awe has continued with the Web 2.0 world and the power of the “click”! 

As a former IT executive turned Entrepreneur, my background in marketing and technology plus the user friendly tools of WEB 2.0 etc, have helped me to quickly understand and use the tools of the web to grow my own small businesses.  

Which brings me back to WordPress.  WordPress is the tool that has enabled me to easily launch several websites, at low cost AND put me in the driver’s seat to make changes based on my business goals, market demands etc.  I am so passionate about the power and ease of use of WordPress as a marketing tool for small and medium businesses, that I launched WordPress4SmallBiz.com.  My intention is to share what I have learned and continue to learn every day from my other WordPress sites.

WordPress has enabled a little geekiness in me, but I’m still a marketer at heart!  So you will find a combination of articles that are a little technical, but most of what I write about on this site, will be from a marketing perspective.  When it comes to the heavy duty technical stuff, I’ll leave that to my partner Vic Brown!

Hi…Vic Brown here!

Well I thought I would write a quick note of hello and tell you right off the bat…that I am a GEEK!  But I have also worked at the marketing side of my businesses.  And that combination has helped me to build and sell a couple of businesses as well as enjoy a wonderful career in the world of technology!

I’m Debbie’s partner in her overarching company, Cypress Publishing.  As you might guess, I am responsible for all things technology related.  As a contributor to WordPress4SmallBiz.com, my focus will be more on the technical side of things.  It’s my goal to write about technology from a business perspective versus bits and bytes.  I’ll work at turning geek speak into business speak to help you make informed decisions about your most important marketing asset…your website!
